How ID verification works (and why it matters)

We use Stripe Identity to confirm your government-issued ID matches a live selfie. Most pros finish in under five minutes.

Verification is mandatory before your profile goes live. We use Stripe Identity, the same tool Lyft and Shopify use for their providers.

What we check

  • Document type — passport, national ID, or driver's license.
  • Document validity — not expired, not flagged in international databases.
  • Liveness — a live selfie matched against the document photo.

Privacy

Stripe Identity stores the documents, not Island Pro. We only receive a pass/fail signal and the verified name. You can request deletion at any time after verification completes.
