Bridgetown, slowly: a neighborhood tour with Ana Devi
The designer on her favorite coffee bar, her dog-walker, and the bench she keeps returning to.
Ana Devi has lived in the same neighborhood in Bridgetown for eleven years. Her relationship with it is now the kind that requires no maintenance — she knows where to get coffee at 7am on a Sunday, who closes early on Mondays, which corner is windier than it looks.
We walked with her for an afternoon. She named her favorite bench, which is in a tiny pocket park she swears no one else knows about. (We checked. They do. She knows.)
